Driving from the UK can be an enjoyable experience with a stop-over en route in southern France or the spectacular Italian lakes. From Calais the trip is approx. 11 hours and the channel tunnel is a 30 minute crossing and easy to use.

We recently had the opportunity to stay at Villa San Martino overlooking the lush Umbrian Landscape.

​

The setting and villa far exceeded our expectations. The  beautifully restored home honored the history and materials of its area, simple and elegant design. It seems every window had a unique and lovely vista as light filtered through the wood beamed ceilings and rooms.

 

​The gardens, pool and multiple outdoor dining areas created a magical setting that had such good energy we could barely pull ourselves away to visit the all of the tempting tourist destinations in the area. It truly was a home away from home.

 

​I have an art gallery and our dear friends whom we traveled with - a top designer (from San Francisco) - were completely enamored with this place. Needless to say, we are very particular about our surroundings so the fact we were so happy with Villa San Martino says a great deal.

 

Thank you for all of the love you have put into this wonderful home and gardens. We will be back!
