Villa San Martino offers not just another holiday in Tuscany or Umbria; this is a really special place.
With spectacular views across the famous Niccone Valley towards Mercatale di Cortona & Pierle the villa is beautifully presented with a mix of antiques, quality Italian country furniture and original artworks.
San Martino has four generous double bedrooms and an additional loft room with two children's beds and/or a travel cot. The two large bathrooms and the shower room are all tastefully designed. The house has a large lounge and a substantial dining kitchen and a further smaller lounge area for relaxing. In addition there is a delightful reading room with views of the pool and garden. The gardens are immaculately cared for and include large ornamental pots planted with bright seasonal flowers. The house is set back from a small local road and there is ample parking for 4 cars or more.
Only 20 minutes from the villa you can easily access the Etruscan town of Cortona, the world-renowned setting of Under the Tuscan Sun. Steeped in history Cortona has a wealth of mediaeval and renaissance architecture and epitomises the Tuscan hilltop town with panoramic views across the Val di Chiana. Marvel at masterpieces of the Renaissance or, in early June, catch the Giostra dell’Archidado, a crossbow competition that dates back to the Middle Ages and performed in medieval dress. Or just meander the pedestrian-only streets in search of a gelato or espresso.
From the villa, other notable towns and cities are easily accessible - Perugia, Citta Di Castello. Montone and Arezzo are all only 30 minutes away. Within an hour you can visit Montepulciano, Pienza, Orvieto or Assisi; Florence, Siena and Rome are less than 90 minutes away.
Enjoy the view from the infinity pool or barbeque and dine alfresco on the old millwheel table, Villa San Martino has everything you will need for a relaxing and inspiring holiday.
